9 Postpartum Must Haves

Whether you just had a baby or you’re getting close to the due date, you need to make sure you’re stocked with the best postpartum must haves to make your c-section recovery as smooth as possible.

Here are some postpartum must haves to help you recover and adjust to life with a newborn.

1. Disposable Underwear

There will be bleeding for days (even weeks) after your baby is born! Always Discreet Adult Incontinence & Postpartum Incontinence Underwear is the perfect combination of a pad and underwear in one. I found them to be so easy to put on. After having a c section, it was very painful to bend over. These underwear save the trouble of bending over multiple times to put on underwear, followed by a pad, followed by pants.

2. Peri Bottle

In continuation of the first product, you will benefit from a peri bottle! There are multiple styles to choose from but this bottle was my favorite. The curved nozzle helps for easy access and use for cleansing yourself!

3. Maternity Belly Band

A belly band is something I used during pregnancy and also postpartum. A belly band offers great support as your body is shifting back into place. This is the specific one I use! It offers great support without feeling too tight. It is so breathable and also easy to move around.

4. Nursing/Pumping Bra

You want to make sure the bra you choose is accessible and comfortable. I personally recommend the Kindred Bravely Sublime Wireless Comfort Sleep Pumping Bra I’ve tried numerous bras and this one is my favorite. It is so comfortable and soft. The material expands when your breasts are moving in size. Also, it has openings for easy access for pumping.

5. Heat/Ice Pads

If you had a C Section like me, you will need heat and ice packs for your incision pain. These are the specific ones I used but any type/brand should work just the same.

6. Comfortable Clothing

As much you might want to jump back into your skinny jeans, your body needs time to heal. The truth is, you need clothing that is comfortable and works for your new body. My favorite lounging item us the Kindred Bravely Jane Nursing Pajama Set.

7. Nipple Pads

Breastfeeding can take a toll on your nipples! These nipple pads are a must have for sore nipples. I personally recommend the ones from Frida Mom!

8. Nipple Cream

The Organic Nipple Butterâ„¢ Breastfeeding Cream by Earth Mama has been wonderful! I love the smell. The texture is so soft and true to the name ‘butter!’ The best part is that it is safe to nurse when using the cream.

9. Pain Relief Patch

Hopefully after you C Section, your hospital will send you home with some pain relief patches. I found it helpful to order more so I did not run out! Here is the specific brand I used. This patch helps minimize incision pain so I can move around more comfortably.
